"NO," Revina screeched the old crone's voice shrill as a bat. "This time you get the intestines and I get the hearts you greedy wretch," she screamed, pushing the cooked rabbit intestines toward the 150lb female wolf. The wolf had laid down next to the lounging crone, stretching herself toward the cooking fire. The old wolf sniffed the intestines indignantly and pushed the bowl back at the crone with her nose. "You can just not eat!" she screeched at the wolf. "For once I am keeping my dinner! I will not give in again, Brindle!" She cackled insanely and took a large bite of one of the rabbit hearts, chewing it loudly to aggravate her companion. Brindle laid her head on her paws; she seemed almost tragically sad. She whined unceasingly at the crone who had deprived her of dinner for several minutes. "Quiet, you ridiculous creature before I skin you and make you into a nice coat." Brindle ceased her whining, but continued to stare at the crone with sad eyes. The crone had trouble continuing her dinner with the sad eyes staring at her. She glanced up into the sky, staring up at the stars, "Yala, help me...", she hesitantly threw the hearts to the wolf and took up the intestines to eat herself. " I hate you sometimes, my friend." Her voice was soft as she patted Brindle's head lovingly. Brindle was much more preoccupied with devouring the rabbits hearts than with her companion. She raised her eyes back up to the stars and smiled to herself. She gave an amused chuckle."Things are about to get interesting for us old girl." Picking up on her companion's feelings, Brindle gave a loud howl worthy of wolves half her age. It seems Revina wasn't the only one excited about the future.
